On Takoyaki and Taiyaki

Me and the fam went to Paseo de Sta. Rosa last Saturday. It's this shopping/dining complex in Greenfield City, Sta. Rosa, Laguna, quite near Enchanted Kingdom, I was told.

Anyway, the second floor of one complex was all Japanese restaurants and groceries. Me and my sister spotted a small area there that people were crowding at. We decided to take a look and saw these:

Yep, that's a stall that sells taiyaki and takoyaki. Freshly made. Steaming hot. Seeing how "authentic" the food was, we decided to try it and got ourselves these:

They were REALLY REALLY REALLY GOOD. All for 70 pesos too! We definitely want to go back there and try the restaurants.

  1. That looks awesome! What are the flavors for the Taiyaki (fish-shaped waffles)?

  3. What is the shop name? Is the shop owner Japanese? :)

  4. I forgot the name of the shop and I'm not sure if the owner's Japanese. However, the whole second floor of that building in Paseo is composed of several Japanese restaurants under the same management, so even though each one "specializes" in their own type of food (barbecue, sushi, etc.), you can order from any one of them inside the restaurant of your choice.

Also, most of the diners are Japanese who live in the area.
